Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Your role as a LSA will be integral to supporting the progress of all children at Oasis Restore, to help them to achieve their individual educational outcomes. We are looking to LSAs who are willing to work towards the HLTA qualification. You will be responsible for supporting with the delivery of a bespoke, skills-based curriculum; and working with individual children and small groups within the classroom to facilitate a personalised and aspirational education for all. You will work as part of an education team within departments and contribute to the regular assessment of the children you are working with as well as forming part of a core team around the child and feeding into formulation meetings to report on progress and next steps.

Music Teacher

  • Salary: MPS 1 to 6 (£32,916 to £45,352) + Teacher Pension Scheme (TPS) (or prorated if part time)

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a practicing musician or music leader/teacher to join the team in contributing to and delivering an outstanding curriculum at the UK’s first secure school. We recognise the power of music to transform young lives, build confidence, raise aspirations, and support the development of personal skills. We anticipate that music will be an integral route to connecting with our children as well as to upskilling them for life beyond the justice system in the music industry and/or beyond. Whether you are a qualified music teacher, a passionate performer, or a music tutor, we are looking for people who want to make a difference to the lives of children in custody. Whilst the role is advertised as full time, we know that what is most important for our children is having the opportunity to work with people who are keen to invest in them and who are practicing, skilled musicians – and that they may not be available for a full-time role. We are keen to consider flexible working requests including part time working. When considering any such requests we would review this against our operating requirements. Our full-time working patterns are Monday to Friday at 35 hours per week.

Restore Practitioner

As a Restore Practitioner, you will join our key frontline residential department as well as being part of the wider Oasis Restore team dedicated to nurturing children from challenging backgrounds. You will be guiding them toward positive futures in the UK’s first Secure Academy Trust to educate children in custody.

The school is all year-round, offering 24/7 integrated and therapeutically informed education, health and social care, which means you will be working shift patterns.

Our Academy

Oasis Restore is the country’s first secure school that is a proof-of-concept policy initiative funded by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ). Oasis Restore’s mission is to transform the life chances of children aged 12-18 years in the criminal justice system through delivering psychologically informed, integrated practice that centres on trusted, safe relationships between staff and children. The role and what we are looking for:

This isn’t just any role—it’s an ever-evolving, hands-on position where you’ll create a safe, home-like environment in a custodial setting.

You’ll be responsible for fostering self-esteem, teaching life skills, setting boundaries, and introducing children to new interests and experiences. A therapeutic approach is essential, as you’ll help our youth navigate their journeys with compassion, structure, and resilience.

As our student numbers increase Restore Practitioners will work across each of the 12 residential flats at Oasis Restore, taking primary responsibility for the children living in this flat and working within an inter-disciplinary team around each child.

You will work within a team which includes experienced social care managers and therapists as well as working with teaching staff to support the children’s engagement in education and wider school activities. You will play an active role in the school’s enrichment programme, delivering sessions which promote the development of the whole child.

In addition to delivering and supporting enrichment programs, you’ll ensure our safeguarding standards are rigorously upheld and keep our systems updated. Your attention to these protocols will play a crucial role in keeping our children safe and supported.

You will be an important figure for children and staff in each of the houses, representing a caring, fair and structured source of authority, who is present and involved in daily life


 Head of English and Literacy

The Head of English and Literacy will lead the implementation and monitoring of a curriculum that embeds hope, stability, and opportunity for children in our care. The role and what we are looking for:  Your role as the Head of English and Literacy will be integral to the progress of all children at Oasis Restore, to deliver aspirational educational outcomes and raise standards in literacy across the cohort. You will be responsible for leading the English and Literacy curriculum that develops the needs of children, is informed by their interests, and prepares them for the future.

You will oversee and run a creative curriculum underpinned by metacognitive pedagogies, in line with the national curriculum, setting a true gold standard for learning. Supported by a team of professionals, you will play a key role in coordinating the work of your team and specialist health to assess and devise strategies to successfully engage children in their own learning journeys. You will lead a team to deliver tailored support to all students, across the home and school, to prepare them for successful transitions into the next phase of their journey. You will be a champion of restorative practice, placing relational connection at the heart of everything you do


PE & Sports Teacher

We are looking for people with experience of teaching or a career in trade looking to make a transition into teaching and make a difference to the lives of children in custody.

Whilst the role is advertised as full time, we can consider flexible working requests such as part time working by the successful candidate. Your role as a PE and/or sport teacher will be integral to the progress of all children at Oasis Restore, to deliver aspirational educational outcomes. You will be responsible for outstanding teaching that develops curious and dedicated learners and meets their individual needs and interests and improves their physical and mental health. You will have the opportunity to teach a second subject area, developing your own practice with the necessary support to deliver consistently outstanding teaching. You will launch and continuously contribute to a creative curriculum underpinned by progressive pedagogies, in line with the national curriculum, and a variety of formal qualifications, setting a true gold standard for learning.

You will be an integral part of a passionate, committed, and ground-breaking multidisciplinary team, working integratively towards improving the outcomes for children so often overlooked. Together, we will devise strategies to empower children to take ownership of their own learning journeys, so preparing them for successful transitions into the next phase of their journey. You will teach class sizes of 5 children, with the support of two additional staff to tailor learning support to each student, in a specially designed education building with brand new technology and software. As a champion of restorative practice, you will place relational connection at the heart of everything you do. Your work will be the driving force that enables children to transition out of Oasis Restore with the support in place for them to succeed in the next step of their journeys.
